Among them, South Korea is one of our largest target markets. According to the statistics of the Korea Plastics Industry Synergy Association, South Korea's plastic production has grown rapidly for many years in a row. Among various types of plastic raw materials, the output of polyethylene and polypropylene is relatively high, reaching 3.22 million tons and 2.347 million tons respectively in 2010, each accounting for 35.2% and 25.7% of the total output. In 2012, the output of Korean synthetic resin reached 9.552 million tons, an increase of 5.9% over 2001; the output of ethylene was 5.697 million tons, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year; the output of propylene was 3.731 million tons, an increase of 9.0% year-on-year. Due to the overhaul in the first half of 2013, and the operating rate decreased with the decline in demand, the output of synthetic resin was 9.717 million tons, an increase of only 1.7%. Propylene production increased by approximately 3.3%.
In recent years, South Korea's plastic consumption has also increased year after year. In 2012, the consumption of synthetic resin increased by 9.9% to 4.865 million tons, due to the increase in consumption of PP, PS/ABS, and PVC. Affected by the overhaul of PE and PVC, the consumption of ethylene was only 5.692 million tons; the consumption of propylene increased by 5.1%.
Since 2009, our RAYTOP CHEMICAL has exported 90-100 tons of optical brighteners to South Korea every year. The concentrated industries mainly include polyester staple fiber, masterbatch, PP products, PE products, PVC products, coatings, paints and inks. The main feature of the optical brightener OB-1 is its high melting point, which can reach 360 degrees Celsius, which is a good choice for the production of high temperature products. The fluorescent whitening agent OB-1 has two appearance colors, green and yellow. The whitening effect is the same except that the shade of yellow OB-1 is a little purple. But for customers who produce color masterbatches, the yellow-green appearance of the fluorescent whitening agent OB-1 directly affects the appearance color of the particles, so be careful when choosing.
The optical brightener OB-1 is widely used in PP, PET, PS, ABS, HDPE, LDPE, PVC, PBT etc plastics industry. In addition, the optical brightener OB-1 is also widely used in polyester staple fiber and color masterbatch.
